The HFO assists with questions concerning ownership of private facilities. Our goal is to encourage the continuing development of the industry by promoting the islands as a filming location and by providing a supportive environment for your work. The state owns and operates the Hawaii Film Studio, a complex including a new 16,500 SQUARE FOOT SOUND STAGE, a 12,000 sq. ft. mill/warehouse, production offices, set dressing and props. The facility is conveniently located on state property adjacent to Diamond Head, within minutes of the Honolulu International Airport, the downtown financial center, and Waikiki Beach. Hawaii as a filming location offers beautiful and varied sites, exceptional weather, a skilled and experienced cadre of production technicians, and the services of the film coordinator from each county as well as that of the Hawaii Film Office.
